About Asheville Transit
Asheville Transit provides bus service service throughout the City of Asheville and other local areas with 24 bus routes running from 6 a.m.-11:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

These routes originate from the Transit Center, located downtown at 49 Coxe Avenue next to the U.S. Post Office. The center provides such amenities as clean restrooms, indoor and outdoor seating, and an on-duty information assistant from whom you can obtain the latest maps and schedules or from whom you may purchase monthly and annual passes and ticket books. They can answer any questions you may have about riding the bus in Asheville.

Paratransit Services for Asheville areprovided to all qualifying individuals provided by Asheville Transit’s contract with Mountain Mobility of Buncombe County Phone: (828) 258-0186.
Mountain Mobility of Buncombe County operates Trailblazer Routes. These routes can be ridden by all Asheville Transit passengers. Phone: (828) 258-0186. To access the Trailblazer website, go to www.buncombecounty.org.

Apple County Transit operated by Henderson County provides four routes serving Henderson County and City of Hendersonville. The Apple Country Transit “Blue route” LINKS with Asheville Transit Route 6 on Airport Road.Phone:(828) 698-8571
Greyhoundoperates five routes per day through Asheville. The station is located at 2 TUNNEL RD and is currently served byAsheville Transit routes 13, 26, 28 and 29. Phone:(828)-253-8451
Hop & Ride
The Hop & Ride program is designed to help commuters in south and west Asheville avoid the hassles of driving and parking in downtown Asheville. Parking is free and one-way bus fare is $1.00.

1) Biltmore Square Mall-Route #9 will arrive at the top of the hour from 8am to 6pm, Monday though Saturday.
2) Goodwill Industries at 1616 Patton-Route #1 will arrive at the bottom of the hour from 5:30am to 6:30pm, Monday thru Saturday.
Holidays
Asheville Transit operates Monday through Saturday throughout the year, averaging 307 days of operation each year, with only the following holidays having no bus service:

* Martin Luther King Jr. Day - Monday, January 18, 2010
*Easter Monday - Monday, April 5, 2010
*Memorial Day - Monday, May 25, 2009
*July 4th - Independence Day - Saturday, July 4, 2009

*Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, November 26, 2009
*Christmas Day - Friday, December 25, 2009
Bike Policy
Asheville Transit’s policy is to support and promote the use of bicycles. Bicycles shall have access to all transit vehicles whenever feasible in order to support more sustainable transportation options. Asheville Transit allows bicycles to travel on buses at no extra charge, and provides the greatest flexibility possible within the constraints of capacity and safety.
