ART Bus Service Update:

Schedule changes starting Sunday, February 9, 2025

In order to improve service and better meet scheduled arrival and departure times, ART will be making updates to the following routes starting on February 9, 2025: S3, S4, and WE1. These changes will result in buses arriving at some bus stops earlier or later than they do currently. For more information and the new schedules, please see below.

S3: 

• Bus stop arrival and departure times will change for weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

S4: 

• Bus arrival and departure times will be updated for weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
• All departures from the ART Station will be 5 minutes later than previously scheduled. For example, route S4 will leave at 6:05 AM instead of 6:00 AM, or 6:35 AM instead of 6:30 AM. This change applies throughout the entire day.  
• The route will no longer continue on as N1 or N2 when arriving at the transit center, and will instead continue on as S2 and W5.
• If you need to transfer to S4 after getting off your bus, please go to the platform marked S4/WE1(WB). Also, if you need to transfer to N1 or N2 after arriving at the Transit Center from route S4, please exit the bus and go to the platform marked N1/N2.

WE1: 

• Arrival and departure times will be changed at bus stops between the ART Station and the VA Medical Center. These changes will apply to all trips on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Tropical Storm Helene Route Modifications

Route WE1: Storm impacts to roadways have resulted in indefinite stop closures on S Tunnel Rd and Swannanoa River Rd. Until further notice, route WE1 East will detour to the VA Medical Center by turning around on S Tunnel Rd near the Asheville Mall. This route will now provide service to passengers using stops on Tunnel Rd between I-240 and the VA Center.

The following table shows current changes still in place after the impacts from Tropical Storm Helene.
