Asheville Housing Fair to be held October 8

The Glen Rock Apartments, 372 Depot St, provides 60 low-income housing units in Asheville’s River Arts District.

The City of Asheville and Land of the Sky Association of REALTORS® announce the second annual Asheville Housing Fair, to take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. October 8 at the Stephens Lee Center, 30 George Washington Carver Ave. The event is free and open to the public and will guide consumers and home providers through questions surrounding buying, lending, property management, credit repair and more.

Representatives from more than a dozen nonprofit organizations and associations will be on site to provide information and one-on-one assistance to those seeking to learn more about affordable housing options.

A series of workshops will be held. The workshop schedule includes:

  •  Renters’ Rights
  •  Lending Tools for a Challenging Market
  •  Managing Affordable Rentals
  •  Veterans’ Panel Discussion
  •  ADUs: Design to Renting
  •  Bond Referendum Discussion
  •  Missing Middle Housing Self-Guided Tour

Attendees can also grab a map for the self-guided tour of tiny homes, ADUs, and cottages in our area. The “Missing Middle Housing Self-Guided Tour” is a driving tour with two open houses along the way and lasts from noon to 4 p.m. the same day.

The Asheville Housing Fair is family friendly with a playground is onsite and a free lunch provided by the Land of the Sky Association of REALTORS®.
