Public Facilities Management Last updated or reviewed on September 13, 2024 The Public Facilities Management Division plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing Asheville’s municipal buildings throughout their useful lives. This team is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, upkeep, safety, and future planning of 60+ facilities, including the operations of select city operations and public safety facilities. This team supports the City of Asheville’s 100% Renewable Energy Initiative through installation and maintenance of solar energy systems, energy efficient controls and building automation in municipal buildings. Comprehensive Facility Study Completed in 2023, the Comprehensive Facility Study is an important project for the Public Facilities Management Division. The findings of the study guide long range planning and investment in the City’s building infrastructure.
