Maintenance and repairs are going on in two of the City’s parking garages. Some of them impact our customers, so here is a roundup:
Civic Center Garage, 550 spaces: The Rankin Avenue entrance will be closed today (June 28) as part of a renovation and should be re-opened by the end of the day. Patrons will need to use the Vanderbilt entrance today. Parking Services has staff on site to redirect people. General maintenance and repairs will be going on summer through mid- to late-fall. These include repairs to sections of the concrete flooring, columns and ceiling as well as replacement of sections of the central stairwell. Lighting is being replaced in several areas as well.
Of note, also on Friday, the recently replaced Civic Center Garage went out of order. Signs are posted. We do not have an ETA yet on when it will be back up and running. So please be aware as you park in this garage over the weekend. We apologize for the inconvenience!
Wall Street Garage, 232 spaces: The elevator from Battery Park Avenue level to Wall Street level will be replaced. This work is expected to begin in a month or two. The elevator will be out of service for an estimated 75 days. During this time, ADA parking spaces on the fourth floor will be relocated (exact new locations to be determined).
No maintenance is currently scheduled at the Biltmore Avenue or Rankin Avenue Garages.
At all City of Asheville parking garages, the first hour is free, second hour or any portion of $2.50 followed by $1.25 per each additional hour or fraction thereof. There is a daily maximum of $12. City garages have special event rates that may apply during concerts and other special events.
