The City of Asheville’s Community and Economic Development Department is now accepting applications for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME, “Home Investment Partnerships Program program. The application process is online, and the link to the webinar for CDBG and HOME application is here. The deadline for applications is Friday February 7 2020 by 5 pm.
Community Development Staff will be offering technical assistance workshops. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about the application and the award process, as well as to meet the Community Development Staff.
- Drop-in session 1: Thursday (Jan. 16) 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., City Hall, 70 Court Plaza, Fifth floor large conference room.
- Drop-in session 2: Thursday (Jan. 16), 4 to 6 p.m., Dr. Wesley Grant Sr. Southside Center, 285 Livingston St., in the classroom.

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) are federal grant programs through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) which provide grant funds for eligible projects that serve Low and Moderate income residents, eliminate slum and blight, and create decent affordable housing for low-income households.
The Community and Economic Development Department manages and administers programs for Asheville and for a four county consortium, consisting of Buncombe, Henderson, Transylvania and Madison Counties, that provide affordable housing, economic opportunities and other benefits for low-income residents.
