Real-time Renewables – Monitoring Solar Energy Generation

In 2018, the City adopted a goal to power 100% of municipal operations with renewable energy by 2030. To achieve this goal, the City will need to invest in both on-site and off-site renewable energy generation . Solar energy and battery storage on city property was identified as a top priority by the community through engagement in the development of the “Moving to 100%” roadmap.

Below are links to the real-time production from the City’s solar installations that show:

  • How much electricity each solar system is currently generating and the amount of electricity the system has generated to date.
  • The environmental benefit from generating this clean energy in terms of  the amount of carbon emissions avoided and the equivalent number of trees planted.
  • For terminology explanation, see this page.

These solar systems provide clean renewable energy, which avoids the carbon and methane pollution generated when fossil fuels are burned to create electricity.. In addition to supporting the 100% renewable goal discussed above, these installations  support the City’s 80% carbon reduction goal.
