As road conditions begin to improve City of Asheville Public Works staff continue to plow and salt roads through the night on Tuesday. Snow efforts continue on secondary roads (priority 2 streets) and sidewalks.
Here are some updates to City services that were impacted by the weather event:
- City Sanitation collections begin for the week on Wednesday, Jan. 19. Collection will operate Wednesday-Saturday two days later than normal. Central Business District customers will stay on their regular Wednesday morning schedule.

- City Community Centers will operate a delayed schedule, opening at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19.
- As City and County schools are scheduled to operate on a remote learning plan, select community centers will host Fun Day Out from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
