Recreation Park Pool Closes for Cleaning

Summer fun is here, so let’s take care to make sure our assets stay open, available and safe for our entire community.

Asheville Parks and Recreation is alerting patrons that the Recreation Park Pool will now be closed for cleaning after a glass bottle was broken near the water on opening day.

To ensure the safety of our users, the pool –  approximately 700-thousand gallons of water – will be drained, power washed, and refilled. The need for these preventative actions means the pool will be closed to the public until cleaning measure are carried out.

Even though this is an unplanned expense, we know our public pools offer summer fun and memory making for thousands of local families and community members each year, so we are working as hard as possible to reopen as quickly as we can.

The City of Asheville Parks and Recreation department would like to remind everyone that glass containers are prohibited in our community pool spaces.  Rules and regulations are clearly posted at each facility. We ask you observe these rules to ensure a safe and fun summer is available to all
