Carter Street - Ann Street - Patton Avenue Stormwater Improvement Project

Project Overview

The Public Works Stormwater Division is undertaking a project to address localized flooding near the intersection of Carter St., Patton Ave., and S. Ann St. by constructing a new stormwater system within the public right-of-way on Patton Ave. The project will also include ADA-accessible sidewalk upgrades, high-visibility crosswalks, street resurfacing, historic-style lamp posts, urban-suited tree planting, and pedestrian safety improvements at the Patton Ave. and Clingman Ave. intersection. This work is being coordinated with the Public Works Streets Division and the NCDOT ahead of the scheduled resurfacing of Patton Ave. The project is expected to finish in Winter 2024.
