The City of Asheville Community & Economic Development Department is now accepting applications for funding from the City of Asheville’s Housing Trust Fund. Funding is available for affordable housing development, rehabilitation, or preservation of affordable housing units within Asheville’s city limits. The Housing Trust Fund was created in 2000 to provide a source of local funding to assist in the development of affordable housing in Asheville. Assistance is made available annually in the form of repayable loans at a low rate of interest.
Applications are due by 5 p.m. Dec. 10 and must be submitted electronically to cdapplications@ashevillenc.gov. Applications are scheduled to be reviewed by the Asheville City Council’s Housing and Community Development Committee at its Jan. 19 meeting, with awards made by the Asheville City Council.
The Housing Trust Fund Policy and Guidelines, eligibility, and all related application forms, can be found at ashevillenc.gov/HousingTrustFund.
