APR Innovators is an Asheville Parks & Recreation series highlighting team members going above and beyond to bring huge value to community members through knowledge, connections, and insight that come from a desire to create the best city possible through the power of high-quality recreation programs and safe parks that welcome everyone.
When did you join the Asheville Parks & Recreation (APR) team?
I joined in 2021 as a coordinator focused on graphic design and marketing.
Which accomplishments are you most proud of in terms of your work with the department?
It’s very fulfilling to provide consistent and reliable design services for our team, so that community members are aware of the many programs and events we offer.
For you personally, what does it mean to work for the department?
I get to experience firsthand a lot of good work from my APR coworkers, as well as others within the City of Asheville.
How have you grown professionally by working with APR?
Joining the APR team has given me the opportunity to learn and grow by experiencing new things, as well as applying my experience in new and exciting ways.
What do you do for fun when you’re not working?
I enjoy coaching sports teams at my children’s schools, hanging out with my family and friends, and going to Asheville Tourists games.
How would you complete this sentence: I work for Asheville Parks & Recreation because…I want to help fellow community members understand all the good things that we have access to in Asheville through APR.
