APR Innovators is an Asheville Parks & Recreation series highlighting team members going above and beyond to bring huge value to community members through knowledge, connections, and insight that come from a desire to create the best city possible through the power of high-quality recreation programs and safe parks that welcome everyone.
When did you join the Asheville Parks & Recreation (APR) team?
My first day was February 1, 2013 and I’ve served as Community Center Assistant Director and Recreation Supervisor at Linwood Crump Shiloh Community Center and my current role as Software Support Specialist.
What inspired you to apply to join the team?
Working in parks and recreation was not my first choice out of college. What led me to apply was simply wanting to do what makes me happy – which is helping and engaging others while being goofy! 🙂
How have you grown professionally by working with APR?
Immensely. Baby Max 11 years ago was a lost puppy just thrilled to be on the employee side of many childhood experiences. Today, I’m able to provide others with my experience and knowledge to help cultivate a positive change!
How would you complete this sentence: “I work for Asheville Parks & Recreation because…”
It’s a catalyst for community growth! The ripple effect of our actions is beyond anything we can put in simple text.
Join Max and other parks and recreation professionals making significant impact as they work to build a strong, healthy, and happy place to live. Current opportunities to work with Asheville Parks & Recreation can be found online.
