From Sept. 11 -20 the Mountain State Fair will bring hundreds of people throughout Western North Carolina to its location on NC-280/Airport Road.
And people who travel to the fair via ART buses will get a discount on admission. Plus they can skip traffic and parking hassles.
The Mountain State Fair is offering a $3 discount off the $9 adult gate admission ticket for guests who arrive by ART (Asheville Redefines Transit). The guests will need to show their bus transfer to the Mountain State Fair gate worker to receive the discount; the transfer can be obtained from the bus driver when boarding the bus.
Which bus to take
The Route S3 serves the Mountain State Fair and costs $1 cash for each trip. Route S3 bus runs every hour and a half – with the trip to the airport/fair talking 45 minutes. It operates from 5:30 a.m. to 8:18 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 7:38 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
Riders can plan their trip to the fair by consulting the schedule found at ridetheart.com or by planning their trip using Google Maps. Riders can also track the S3 bus in real time by using Nextbus via phone, text or website.
Asheville Redefines Transit will close two bus stops from Sept. 11-20 due to expected traffic congestion. Notices are posted at these two bus stops. One of the bus stops is a Park-n-Ride located just to the south of the WNC Agricultural Center. This bus stop is typically a transfer point between ART and Henderson County’s Apple Country Transit. During the Mountain State Fair transfers can occur at the corner of Terminal Drive/Fanning Bridge Road and Airport Road.
