ART transit suspends bus service during winter storm

With a Winter Storm upon us, bringing multiple inches of snow to Asheville Saturday through Monday, ART bus will suspended transit service at 2 p.m. Saturday. Service remains suspended on Sunday.

This will give the buses time to come out of service before major road safety hazards occur.

“Our goal is always to keep our buses running and on schedule, but we need to balance that with ensuring the safety of our passengers and drivers, particularly in snow or icy road situations,” said Transportation Assistant Director Jessica Morriss.

Once roads are safe for the buses, service will resume as quickly as possible.
