Chief Information Officer Jonathan Feldman has accepted a position as Chief Information Officer with Wake County Government in Raleigh, North Carolina and will leave the City of Asheville Oct. 14.
During his seventeen year tenure, the City of Asheville became an early adopter of cloud-based technology, cybersecurity was enhanced and the diversity of the Information Technology Services (ITS) Department was greatly improved. The innovations he and his team had in place were critical to the City of Asheville’s ability to pivot quickly to remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It has been my pleasure to serve as the City’s Chief Information Officer,” said Feldman. “Asheville offered me and my family the chance to grow, learn and contribute to this community and I will always be grateful for that. I will miss dear colleagues, but I know that the Information Technology Services team is strong and will continue to serve this community well.”
“Jonathan inspired excellent customer service and innovation in his team and the organization as a whole,” said City Manager Debra Campbell. “He has left a great legacy and will be missed.”
An Interim Director will be named soon, followed by a selection process for Chief Information Officer.
