City of Asheville staff have been hard at work creating online tools to make General Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and 2016 Bond Project information more accessible for everyone.
New tools include an online dashboard and project map that provide users with information on project locations, timelines and budgets.
The project map displays general project information and location, while the online dashboard provides project construction timeframes, current budgets and money spent. These tools are available for viewing on the City’s Bond webpage and Capital Projects Department webpage.
What projects will you see in these tools?
These online tools are intended to provide an overview of projects within the City’s General CIP and 2016 Bond Projects. The City’s General CIP includes funding for affordable housing, Parks & Recreation, public safety, transportation and infrastructure, and general government projects. Projects are funded with a combination of general tax revenue, municipal debt and external grants or partnerships. Ongoing programs and regular maintenance allocations are not represented in these tools. A comprehensive list of the City’s General CIP can be found in the Adopted 2017-2018 Budget.
These tool also show information on the City’s 2016 Bond Projects, which Asheville voters approved in the November 8, 2016, general election. These projects supplement the City’s General CIP and include transportation, parks and housing affordability projects.
