Asheville trash, recycling collection delayed Tuesday

Trash and recycling pick up for Tuesday, Jan. 10, 7, will begin on a delayed basis (crews hope to begin by midmorning) on normal Tuesday routes.

Brush and Christmas tree collection will be canceled for the rest of the week to allow for all available equipment will be focused on trash pickup.

If any residents’ trash or recycling doesn’t get picked up on Tuesday, they should put it out next Tuesday for collection. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience. The City’s Sanitation main line is 828-259-5857 if you have specific questions or comments.

City of Asheville Public Works snow crews will continue to work 24/7 to improve street and sidewalk conditions.

Asheville Sanitation Services will be delayed today, Jan. 9, 2017, due to icy road conditions. City staff will begin collections by noon.

City crews will make every effort to collect all normal Monday routes (West) today, but that may not be possible. All of our effort will be on trash collection today, therefore, no brush collection will take place.

If a resident’s trash or recycling doesn’t get picked up today, crews will collect it next Monday. The Sanitation Department expects to stay on schedule the rest of the week.
