Workshop participants discuss potential solutions for small-scale residential infill development during a City of Asheville workshop Aug. 16. Another workshop is slated for Aug. 11.
City staff held the first of two workshops on July 14 to gather public input on city code considerations that seek to allow for more small-scale residential infill development. Approximately 100 people attended the presentation of the staff analysis and initial considerations, followed by an hour of small group discussion where attendees provided feedback to City planners. All of the posters shown at the workshop are now available on a Small Scale Residential Infill project page.
There is still plenty of time to weigh in on the code considerations. For those who were unable to make the first workshop there will be a second public workshop from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at the U.S. Cellular Center, 2nd floor banquet hall.
Also, the topic is available for online input on Open City Hall Asheville. Those who cannot make either of the two workshops are encouraged to read the analysis and take the survey there. The online survey will close on August 30.
When you provide feedback on Open City Hall Asheville, it’s important that you do so as a registered user. Registration is quick and easy and is not shared with a third party. Your registration information is confidential and is only used to identify which statements from Asheville residents.
