City of Asheville offices will be closed December 24-26, 2024 during the winter holiday break. City offices will also be closed on January 1, 2025.

Debris Collection: Helene-related debris collection will continue throughout the holidays.
FEMA Disaster Relief Center at Asheville Mall will have holiday hours:
December 24: Closed
December 25-26: Closed
December 27: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
January 1, 2025 – Closed
January 2 – 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
The following City services will be affected by the holiday closures.
ART bus service
Asheville Rides Transit (ART) holiday schedule will be as follows:

Service will be closed after 6:30 p.m. December 24 (Christmas Eve)

No service on December 25 (Christmas Day)

Trash, Recycling, and Brush Collection
Trash, Recycling, and Brush will be collected Monday, December 23 and Tuesday, December 24 as normal. No collection on Wednesday, December 25. Wednesday customers, including CBD, will be collected Thursday, December 26. Thursday customers will be collected Friday, December 27.
The Sanitation Office will be closed December 24-26.

As a reminder, 8 food scrap drop-off sites are now open in the City of Asheville and Buncombe County for residential composting.
Asheville Parks & Recreation
Most Asheville Parks and Recreation (APR) parks and greenways are open from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. every day of the year, though some are closed due to extensive damage from Tropical Storm Helene. Please check ashevillenc.gov/parks for closed locations. Administrative offices and community center buildings are closed December 24-26 and January 1.

Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville: Will be closed December 23-26.

Asheville Municipal Golf Course will be closed on December 25, 2024, and the back nine is open for play on all other dates throughout the holidays. Tee times can be booked at www.ashevillegc.com
Emergency services
All public safety services, including police, fire, and emergency response, will operate to normal schedule – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Water Resources
Staff will be available for water-related emergencies 24 hours a day over the holiday weekend. Customers can call the customer service line at 828-251-1122 to report water-related emergencies, leaks, breaks, and no water calls. In-field teams remain standing by to respond throughout the holidays.
