City of Asheville offices closed for Labor Day, ART buses to run on holiday schedule

Asheville City government offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 3, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

Though City offices will be closed including the Sanitation Office, trash and recycling will be collected as normal on Sept. 3.  Anyone with a collection issue should call the Customer Service line at 828-251-1122.

 

ART bus service

The City of Asheville ART service routes and facilities will operate on a holiday schedule Sept. 3, which is the same as the Sunday bus schedule (see schedule below). The Labor Day holiday is one of six holidays throughout the calendar year that ART offers bus service. For route info, visit RideTheART.com.

Parks

Labor Day is the last day Recreation Park Pool will be open for the season. The pool will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 1-3. Malvern Hills and Walton Street Pools are already closed for the season.

All City of Asheville Parks and Recreation Department recreation centers will be closed. The following facilities will be open: all City parks, Asheville Golf Course, Asheville Skate Park, Aston Park Tennis Center and the Western North Carolina Nature Center. For hours of operation and other information about the WNC Nature Center, visit wncnaturecenter.com. Riverside Cemetery will be open, although the cemetery office will be closed.

U.S. Cellular Center

The U.S. Cellular Center will be closed on Labor Day. Ticket purchases can still be made through TicketMaster. The box office will reopen at 10 a.m. Sept. 4.

Emergency response and water-related issues

Water Resources staff will be available for water-related emergencies 24 hours a day over the holiday weekend. Customers can call the customer service line at 828-251-1122 to report water related emergencies, leaks, breaks, and no water calls.

All public safety services, including police, fire and emergency response, will operate according to normal schedule — 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
