Two seats are up for election on the City of Asheville Civil Service Board. The public is invited to apply for candidacy by 5 p.m. Sept. 4. The election will be held Sept. 21. The term of office is two years.
The City is currently sending out applications to interested Asheville residents and accepting applications from individuals in the Asheville community who have expressed a desire to serve on an Asheville Board and Commission.

The City is seeking fair-minded candidates to serve on this board. City of Asheville employees are not eligible to run in this election.
The Civil Service Board works with the Human Resources Department to resolve employee grievances on an as needed basis and meets on a periodic basis to discuss personnel administration issues.
The board meets on the first Thursday of each month at 2:30 p.m. in Room 623 of the City Hall Building. The normal length of the meeting is one to two hours.
