For the second night in a row, award-winning country music star Kacey Musgraves played a two-night stand of sold-out shows Sept. 16-17 at the U.S. Cellular Center’s Thomas Wolfe Auditorium.
She is the winner of six Grammy Awards, four Country Music Association Awards, and three Academy of Country Music Awards, including female Artist of the Year. This year’s Grammy awards include Album of the Year for “Golden Hours,” Best Country Song for “Space Cowboy” and Best Country Solo Performance for “Butterflies.”
“These two sold-out Kacey Musgraves shows coming on a Monday and Tuesday night help to boost our local economy and downtown businesses on typically slower business days,” said Sam Powers, Asheville Community and Economic Development Director.
There are a lot of moving pieces to book a musical star, especially for a two-night stand. “We are thrilled to bring a talent of this caliber to our Asheville audience and to those who have traveled to Asheville specifically to attend these shows,” said U.S. Cellular Center General Manager Chris Corl. Corl noted that Asheville continues to receive accolades as one of the top U.S. cities for live music.
Asheville’s premier entertainment venue, the U.S. Cellular Center hosts more than 200 days of events per year, drawing well over 200,000 people annually. Visit uscellularcenterasheville.com for a schedule of upcoming concerts and events.
