New technology being deployed by the City of Asheville’s Development Services Department will streamline the inspection processes resulting in quicker inspection results for contractors.
As part of improved efficiency, the timeline for inspection requests will change.
Effective July 1, contractors requesting an inspection will need to get their online request in by 6 p.m. the day prior to the inspection. Contractors requesting an inspection can do so online by visiting the City of Asheville’s Development, Permit, & Inspection Portal at services.ashevillenc.gov/citizenaccess.
Inspections requested via telephone, at 828-259-5946, must be received by 4:30 p.m. the day before the request.
Although the Development Services Department operates on a 4-day work week, Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the Inspections teams continue to provide Friday inspection services.
