Help the City of Asheville select among three finalist proposals for the City’s first Visiting Artist Project.
The Visiting Artist Program will engage a visiting artist that can support the community’s creation of memorable places, the promotion of Asheville’s African American history, and participation by the local community in diverse acts of cultural expression.
The three semi-finalists engaged with more than 100 community members during a multiple-day site visit to Asheville at the end of July.
The City is host a Sept. 20 gathering to gather feedback about the three finalist proposals.
For those unable to attend the Sept. 20 event, we invite you to review the finalist proposals and weigh in on which one you think would be the best match for our community.
Visit Open City Hall Asheville through Oct. 4 to take our Visiting Artist Project survey. The proposals are posted on the survey! Once you view them, rank them in order of which one you like best.
The Visiting Artist will be chosen through a competitive process, and your input is 25% of the final decision.

The City’s Public Art and Cultural Commission will announce who is chosen between the three finalists on Oct. 11.

Thank you for participating in the survey!
