The City of Asheville announces Emily Provance as Human Resources Director

Asheville City Manager, Debra Campbell, is pleased to announce that Emily Provance has been named as the City of Asheville’s next Human Resource Director. Emily will officially begin her duties with the City of Asheville on September 16, 2024.

Emily holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from University of Akron and holds her Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP) certification. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a commitment to fostering inclusive work environments and developing strategies that align HR practices with the overall goals of the organization.

Prior to joining the City of Asheville, Emily served as Human Resources Director at Malone University, where she successfully implemented a new human resource information system and managed all human resource functions. 

As Human Resources Director, Emily will oversee all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, employee development, compensation and benefits, ensuring that the City of Asheville continues to be an employer of choice.
