Update 5/22/23: The Wall Street Parking Garage temporary night closures have been extended through May 25, 2023. During this period, the garage will remain open between 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Temporary evening closures are in place to ensure the community’s safety while improvements are being made.

The Wall Street Parking Garage will be temporarily closed between 7 p.m. – 5 a.m. beginning on May 8, 2023, through May 11, 2023, and then again from May 15, 2023 through May 18, 2023 for stairwell improvements.

Due to the nature of improvements, the garage will temporarily close during these times to all parking customers to ensure the community’s safety. The Wall Street Garage will remain open between 5 a.m. – 7 p.m. during this timeframe. Please note that these dates are subject to change in the event of inclement weather.

This maintenance comes in response to the Parking Garage Capital Improvements Facility Assessment. In FY 22, the Parking Services division in Transportation included funding in the parking operations budget to hire professional consultants to conduct structural assessments of all four city-owned garages. The purpose of the assessment is to review needed maintenance items and budget for upcoming repairs over the next several years for each garage.

Parking arrangements for the City’s Monthly parking accounts

Monthly parkers have been notified. Monthly parkers who regularly utilize the garage between 7 p.m. – 5 a.m. can email parking@ashevillenc.gov to request accommodations during the closure.
