What’s Up AVL!
The City of Asheville’s bi-monthly radio show allows the community to take a deep dive with the City of Asheville staff and departments.
You can learn about different departments and what projects are taking place in your community.
On What’s Up AVL! this week, host Sam Parada interviews Logan Smith, part of the Community and Public Engagement production team. They talk about the efforts underway to use technology to improve accessibility. One of those efforts is the Community Space Upfit Project. Using 75 thousand dollars ($75,000) of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to bring communication upgrades to some of the city’s community spaces.
The Community Space Upfit project is designed to bring equity to communities by upgrading community spaces with technology to facilitate virtual meetings, emergency briefings, and other ways to stay connected.
