APR Innovators is an Asheville Parks & Recreation series highlighting team members going above and beyond to bring huge value to community members through knowledge, connections, and insight that come from a desire to create the best city possible through the power of high-quality recreation programs and safe parks that welcome everyone.

When did you join the Asheville Parks & Recreation (APR) team?

I joined the team in 2021 as a Labor Crew Supervisor for the team that handles athletics fields and facilities, as well as mowing and landscape maintenance of parks on the east side of the city.

What inspired you to apply to join the team?

I was drawn to government work because I wanted to contribute to positive change in Asheville and make a difference for our community. Also, my skills in turfgrass are directly applicable to APR’s mission and I was excited to use them to contribute to public service.

Which accomplishments are you most proud of in terms of your work with the department?
