Trespass letters provide the Asheville Police Department with the authority to charge violators on your behalf. To charge trespassing, a representative of the property must first ask the person trespassing to leave, OR there must be a sign posted, in a manner reasonably likely to come to the attention of intruders, with notice not to enter the premises (No Trespassing).
