The following trips will be missed tonight:

W6– 7:25, 8:25, 9:25, 10:25

N3- 7:45, 8:45, 9:45, 10:45
4/25/2025 170, WE1, WE2 408, 409, 410, 411, 442, 443, 444 Due to a gas leak on Tunnel Rd, these routes will detour on their outbound trips by taking exit 6 onto I-240 and getting off at exit 7 to continue their normal routes. The same will happen in reverse on inbound trips.

4/7/2025 S5 Multiple

Starting Monday, 4/7, route S5 will return to its pre-Helene route. Rather than turning around at the Walmart on Bleachery, it will once again serve Swannanoa River Rd, Wood Ave, and Cedar St. See a link to the full map here.

Though the route will return to normal, the following stops remain closed due to being inaccessible or unsafe:

  • 138 Wood Ave at River Hills Rd (Use stop 140 instead)
  • 438 Swannanoa River Rd at S Tunnel Rd (Use stop 437 instead)
  • 436 Swannanoa River Rd at Bleachery Blvd (Use stop 437 instead)
3/31/2025 Until Further Notice 170 992, 993 & 520

Due to sidewalk construction on New Haw Creek Rd, route 170 will detour and miss the following stops while construction is taking place:

  • 992 Old Haw Creek Rd at Bethesda Rd (Use 523 instead)
  • 993 Bethesda Rd at Old Haw Creek Rd (Use 523 instead)
  • 520 New Haw Creek Rd at Bethesda Rd (Use stop 519 instead)
 3/4/2025 Until Further Notice N2 255, 257, 258 & 259

Due to an inaccessible roadway, Route N2 is unable to serve 4 stops on Beaverdam beginning at Faircrest Rd. The following stops at the end of the line are temporarily closed until further notice:

  • 259 Beaverdam Rd at Faircrest Rd
  • 255 Beaverdam Rd at Wolfe Cove Rd
  • 258 Beaverdam Rd at Valley Rd
  • 257 Valley Rd at Bear Mountain
10/27/24 Until Further Notice S5, WE1 Multiple

Due to on-going road closures caused by Tropical Storm Helene, route WE1 continues to be modified. All other routes have returned to their original, pre-Helene routes and schedules.

  • Not serving stops between S Tunnel Rd at Swannanoa River Rd and Swannanoa River Rd at Tunnel Rd
  • Will detour to the VA Medical Center by turning around on S Tunnel Rd near the Asheville Mall. 
  • Will now provide service to passengers using stops on Tunnel Rd between I-240 and the VA Center. 
8/27/24 Until Further Notice W5, WE1 & WE2 300 & 302 Road closures continue on Patton Ave, detours are in place for Routes W5, WE1 & WE2.  Bus Stops 300(Patton Ave at Otis St) and 302(Patton Ave at Clingman Ave) will be missed.  Estimated time of closure is 24 hours a day until further notice. Please note, closures are subject to change due to weather.

In lieu of Bus Stops 300 & 302 passengers may board outbound buses at the ART Station located at 49 Coxe Ave.

Due to the ongoing City of Asheville’s Stormwater Improvement Project, expect delays for Routes W5, WE1 & WE2 weekdays from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM until further notice.

Due to staff shortages, customer service hours of operation at the Transit Station at 49 Coxe Ave. may differ from regular hours. Until further notice, expect the following changes:

  • On Tuesdays after 5:00 PM, customer service may be unavailable. 
  • On Saturdays after 5:00 PM, customer service may be unavailable.
  • On Sundays & Holidays, customer service may be unavailable. 

To avoid coming to the transit station for customer service-related activities when staff is unavailable, please plan your trip outside the hours listed above and within the regularly scheduled hours of operation. Customer service being unavailable means that riders are unable to purchase tickets, submit and process discounted pass applications, reach the help number at 828.253.5691, and receive information on routes and schedules, among other services.
